City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center is ranked eighth in the U.S. for cancer treatment.

That’s according to U.S. News and World Report’s ranking of the Top 50 “Best Hospitals for Cancer.”

Located in Duarte, California, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center was founded in 1913. Its current president is Robert Stone. The hospital has a pediatric ward and is also a training hospital.

U.S. News evaluated almost 900 hospitals across the country to discern the top 50 based on their cancer treatments. The evaluation covered a variety of cancer types, including leukemia, lymphoma, breast, colon, prostate, uterine and ovarian cancers among many others. The hospitals were evaluated based on categories such as patient outcomes, patient experience, care-related indicators like staffing and available technology, and expert opinion through a physician survey.
