NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Arcadia on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for three measures relating to an amendment to the City Charter, an increase to the City’s Transient Occupancy Tax rate similar to nearby cities, and a new local tax that would be implemented if Sports Wagering is approved statewide this fall. In addition, voters will be considering City Council Member Candidates for Electoral Districts 2, 3, and 5.
ARCADIA BALLOT MEASURES
The Los Angeles County Registrar-Records/County Clerk has assigned a Letter Name to each of the City’s measures. For more information on Measure CA, Measure HT, and Measure SW, the City of Arcadia invites the public to view an informational video at ArcadiaCA.gov/Measures to learn more about the proposed measures. You may obtain a copy of each measure at no cost, upon request made to the City Clerk’s Office.
| MEASURE CA: Shall the City Charter be amended to provide for election of City Councilmembers by-district, to set the general municipal election for the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in even-numbered years to align with the Statewide General Election date, to amend the procedure to fill vacant elective offices, to change the City Clerk from elected to appointed, to establish a City Prosecutor, to modify City procurement procedures, and to make other modernizing amendments? | YES |
