The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is completing urgent repairs to a pipeline in their service area known as the Upper Feeder pipeline. Repairs will begin on September 6, 2022 through September 20, 2022. Residents and businesses in portions of greater Los Angeles County have been directed to suspend outdoor watering for 15 days as this critical imported water pipeline is shut down for emergency repairs.
The City of Arcadia’s water supply is sourced primarily from local groundwater basins located within the Main San Gabriel Basin, and the City has no active connections to the Upper Feeder pipeline. As a result, Arcadia water customers will not be impacted by the emergency shutdown and will not be asked to temporarily cease outdoor watering. The Summer Watering Schedule is still in effect; however, as drought conditions persist, all residents and businesses are encouraged to be mindful of their water usage and continue to use water wisely.
For additional information, please contact the Public Works Services Department at (626) 254-2720 or by email at PublicWorks@ArcadiaCA.gov. For the latest information on the drought, please visit ArcadiaCA.gov/WaterConservation.
