Join us October 2 under the Stars

Swing into the celebratory spirit with cool sounds from the Great American Songbook at the Arboretum’s annual gala! There will be dining and dancing under the stars, with live musical entertainment, Frank Sinatra-style! Please join us on Sunday, October 2, from 5pm-9pm, in recognizing three remarkable leaders of the garden: Bill Lincoln, Dan Foliart, and Richard Schulhof.

We hope you will come for the festivities, but also know that you are helping to raise pivotal funds for the Arboretum in the process. Like the ants who moved that rubber tree plant in the Oscar-winning song “High Hopes,” we know we can do it with your support. All proceeds from this important event go toward expanding impactful education programming and for the ongoing care of our beloved gardens and historic treasures.

Tickets are $300 each and sponsorships run from $1,500 to $10,000. Contact Judith Hamilton-Márquez for more information at 626.566.3707 or at judith.marquez@arboretum.org.

About our Honorees

Our trio of honorees are stalwart Arboretum friends who have left a lasting imprint on the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. Bill Lincoln joined the Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation Board of Trustees in 2014 and served as President for four years. His business acumen as a finance professional resulted in the expansion of Arboretum earned-income opportunities and a steady financial picture. Dan Foliart, a prolific composer for television, served as President of the Foundation Board from 2015-2018, having been a member since 2012. His tenure was marked by energetic efforts to care for the irreplaceable historic landmarks and collections here, which included securing funds to help renovate Baldwin Lake. Richard Schulhof, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer since 2009, holds advanced degrees in forestry and botanic garden administration. He has worked to transform the Arboretum into a world-class public garden by creating new gardens and capital projects to enhance the visitor experience. The Arboretum is fortunate to have such dedicated leaders, who have realized some high hopes indeed!
