The Mayor's Youth Council will host its annual Unity March starting at the Duarte Senior Center (1610 Huntington Drive) on Saturday, November 5, from 9-11 AM. The March will begin at 9 AM, however, the first 150 marchers at the event can start receiving their free t-shirts at 8:30 AM. This youth-driven rally will promote peace and unity in the community and include an inspirational speech from youth advocate and local businessman Ulises Gutierrez.
Ulises Gutierrez is a local businessman and humanitarian who has a passion for service to the people of the Los Angeles County community. He is currently the COO for his LifeChurch UPC and the founder and CEO of his own consulting business iN*NO*VATE. Ulises is on the board of many organizations that promote social and economic initiatives that promote support services such as suicide prevention, homelessness prevention, and drug and alcohol prevention. Ulises's journey from gang activity and drug abuse led him to a place of despair, yet it was the driving force to turn his life around at age 20. It has motivated his desire to express his heartfelt commitment to all human beings, regardless of background and social status, to be treated with love and dignity. Ulises Gutierrez is a changemaker.
