In this time dedicated to giving thanks, we give our sincere thanks to our Arcadia Rotary Longley Way Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Rachel Lefkowitz, for the immense heart and skill she pours into her work as an educator in our district. We have been so lucky to have Rachel on our team, serving our third-grade Lions and their families for the last seven years.
Rachel's classroom is ever-buzzing with excited, collaborative conversations, "a-ha" moments, and more, as she creates a welcoming environment that invites and excites students to think creatively as they construct their own understanding of new concepts. What fuels Rachel's teaching is her sincere belief that all students are capable of learning and doing challenging things. In her role as an educator, Rachel strives to create an environment and foster relationships between and among students that allow all of them to become active participants in their learning.
Rachel wants students to leave the classroom with increased confidence in their skills to navigate all kinds of life experiences. In addition to teaching, we are so thankful for Rachel's work in mentoring teachers new to our district through our Arcadia Unified induction program, her work with our Leader in Me Lighthouse team, and so much more. We are so thankful for you, Rachel! Congratulations on this incredibly deserving recognition.
Our continued thanks to our Arcadia Rotarians for their steadfast support of our teachers, students, staff, and schools.
