City of Duarte Seeks Volunteers for Homeless Count | City of Duarte

Every year communities across Los Angeles County, including Duarte, conduct a census of the homeless population in their cities. The homeless count is made possible by volunteers who help count and collect data that is essential to understanding the full extent of homelessness in L.A. County. Most importantly, the count helps the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) deliver services and outreach to those experiencing homelessness.

The City of Duarte is currently seeking volunteers from our local community to participate in this year’s 2023 Homeless Count happening Tuesday, January 24 starting at 8 PM. The meeting point for this year's count is the Duarte Senior Center (1610 E Huntington Drive).

In consideration of everyone’s safety, volunteers are encouraged to register as teams of two or more. Your volunteer group, or Count Team Bubble, will allow you to participate in the count with people you know and ensure your safety and meaningful participation. Volunteers will receive on-site training the day of the count and all other necessary materials, including snacks and water, will be provided during the count.

To register for the City of Duarte 2023 Homeless Count email Tony Hadloc at AHadloc@AccessDuarte.com or register online at TheyCountWillYou.org. Learn more regarding the count's purpose and process by watching the 2023 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count video.
