"OfferUp" Armed Robbery and Subsequent Follow Up Investigation Leads Arrest | City of Irwindale
On Saturday, December 31, 2022 at about 1:57 P.M., officers from the Irwindale Police Department responded to the report of an armed robbery in the 15800 block of Arrow Highway in the city of Irwindale.
Officers responded to the area and made contact with the victim. The victim told officers he arranged the transaction of a Rolex watch that he posted on “OfferUp.” The victim was met by a female suspect. The victim perceived the female suspect to be the potential buyer of the Rolex watch. During the transaction, the female suspect motioned towards two other suspects. The victim noticed two masked male suspects approach him and the female suspect. Both suspects pointed a handgun and demanded the Rolex. The victim surrendered the Rolex. All three suspects left the area in a black Kia sedan.
Irwindale Police Department Detectives immediately initiated an investigation. Detectives identified the female suspect, Anabella Scott, a twenty three year old female resident of Desert Hot Springs. With the assistance of the Detective Bureau from the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, a search warrant was conducted at Scott’s residence. The search warrant service led to the discovery of the stolen Rolex watch and two handguns. Scott was at the residence during the time of the search warrant service. Scott and two juvenile male subjects were arrested at the residence for their involvement in the robbery without incident.
Scott and the two juvenile male subjects were charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Both juveniles were issued a citation and released to the custody of their parents with a pending a future court date in juvenile court. Scott is being held at the West Covina City Jail on $100,000 bail pending her court appearance.
